Fixed Dates — Cannot Change
The Carnaval de Barranquilla follows the Catholic calendar and is always held the four days before Ash Wednesday. In 2027, this falls Feb 6–9 (Sat–Tue), with our package running Feb 5–10. These dates are fixed by UNESCO and the city of Barranquilla — it is impossible to experience this package on any other dates.

- Arrive Barranquilla Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport. Transfer to Hotel del Prado 5★ — a Barranquilla landmark since 1930, set in the heart of the city, minutes from its best restaurants and nightlife.
- Barranquilla City Tour to understand the roots of Carnaval: Centro Histórico, the Gran Malecón del Río, and Barrio Abajo — the neighbourhood where carnival traditions were born.
- Optional · Coronación de la Reina del Carnaval — the official crowning of the Carnival Queen: a grand theatrical show featuring international artists, live music and cultural performances. Separate entrance fee applies — our team will coordinate access upon request.
- Welcome dinner at La Cueva (included) — Barranquilla's most legendary bar-restaurant, a historic gathering place for the city's intellectuals, painters and poets. García Márquez drank here. Alejandro Obregón painted nearby. Mompox musicians played these walls. Tonight it's ours, with a live musical guest setting the tone for the week ahead.

Batalla de Flores (VIP Palco) + La Puntica Na' Más
The Saturday opening parade — Colombia's most spectacular day

- Breakfast at the hotel (included). Transfer to your reserved VIP palco on Vía 40 — a covered grandstand with shade and seating, where food and bar service are available on-site at your own expense. Your spot is confirmed; the rest of the day is yours to experience.
- The Batalla de Flores: Colombia's most extravagant parade — float after float of sequined costumes, Caribbean music and thousands of flowers. 200,000+ spectators. Our team will share a gastronomic guide with the best lunch spots near the palco.
- Optional · Comparsa participation — march inside a real carnival troupe during the Batalla, with full costume, brief rehearsal, and an authentic spot among local dancers. The most immersive way to live this day.
- Group dinner at a curated barranquillero restaurant (included). The Carnaval cultural agenda begins tonight: the city transforms after dark during Carnival week.
- Optional · La Puntica Na' Más — Saturday night is the city's signature carnival event: a fusion of traditional cumbia and rave energy with local and international artists. Pure barranquillero euphoria. Separate entrance fee — our team will coordinate.
- Optional · Bar Hopping Night — a curated route through Barranquilla's best nightlife spots during Carnival. Our team will guide you to the places locals actually go.

Gran Parada de Tradición y Folklore
Congo Grande, Cumbia Sampuesana, original folk groups

- Breakfast at the hotel (included). The most authentic day of carnival — traditional folk groups from across Colombia's Caribbean coast: Congos de la Bahía, Palayeros, Gaitas from the Montes de María.
- VIP palco seats — this parade moves slower, more traditional rhythms, older dances, raw emotion. Often cited by carnivaleros as their favourite day. Food and bar service available at the palco at your own expense. Our gastronomic guide will point you to the best street food in the area.

El Entierro de Joselito + Narcobollo
The bittersweet end — mourning the death of carnival

- Breakfast at the hotel (included). Cultural stop at Narcobollo — one of Barranquilla's most iconic local food experiences, on your own. A mandatory detour for anyone who wants to eat like a true barranquillero.
- El Entierro de Joselito: the most emotionally unique carnival tradition in the world. Hundreds of 'widows' (mostly men in drag) weep theatrically over the coffin of Joselito — the spirit of carnival — marking the end of the festivities.
- The procession passes through the streets at sunset — a theatrical funeral that is simultaneously hysterically funny and genuinely moving.
- Farewell group dinner (included): everyone arrives in their best carnival costume for a final meal at a curated local restaurant. One last night — the Carnaval cultural agenda is still alive. Our team will share what's on.
